The legislators of South Ossetia refused to consider the claim of resignation of Prosecutor General of the republic Taimuraz Khugaev and will be able to go back to this question at the end of spring.
On February, 13, Vadim Brovtsev acting as President of the republic directed a new claim of resignation of Prosecutor General explaining it by the necessity of staff rotation. Khugaev himself declared in reply that he considered his resignation possible but untimely.
“The Parliament sent its reply to Brovtsev. The document ran that according to the parliamentary regulations, the deputies would not be able to consider the above mentioned claim earlier than in May”, RIA “Novosti” quotes Head of Press service of the Parliament Inna Gabaraeva.
“According to section 10 of the parliamentary regulations of RSO, “Parliamentary consideration of questions of agreement to appointment or dismissal of Prosecutor General of RSO, judges and courts of RSO”, reminder requests of consideration of a candidate earlier declined by the Parliament is possible not before six months after the first claim, i.e. not until May, 2012”, IA “Res” quotes Dyakonov, Chairman of Committee for legislation, justice and local self-government of South Ossetia.
